Nevada Activities

* Currently attempting to formalize the EMSC Advisory Committee by creating membership comprised of representatives of organizations within the sphere of influence of the EMSC program.  This includes members those organizations recommended in the grant guidance.

* On going efforts to assist rural EMS agencies in replacing or obtaining essential pediatric equipment and supplies for their ambulances.

* On going efforts to assist rural EMS agencies in maintaining the infrastructure to submit EMS data to the Nevada Electronic EMS Data System (NEEDS).  This includes purchase of computer hardware/software and internet access.

* Currently conducting statewide on-site visits with all hospital emergency department staff to conduct survey of facilities ability to assess and treat pediatric patients.  The survey also addresses the current pediatric and trauma training status of all emergency department staff and is being combined with implementation of a new trauma registry program that will allow for standardized electronic submission of trauma  data.

* Preparing for a site visit from the National EMSC Program and NRC in late October of this year.
